In Sanskrit, the first chakra or “wheel” is referred to as the muladhara chakra, a word derived from two works meaning “root” (mula) and “base” (adhara). Since each chakra generates its’ energy through one of the endocrine glands, the base chakra attaches itself primarily to the sexual organs. Located just below the tailbone at the base of the spine or the coccyx, men and women have a first chakra placement that differs by almost two inches. The woman’s, for the most part, being internal while the man’s is nearer the surface. The man’s hormone, testosterone, pulls energy toward and down while the woman’s estrogen pulls the energies back and slightly upward. Ultimately, there is a physiological difference in how energy and information are processed by each sex. This gives the man his predominant assertive behavior while the woman’s is more receptive by nature. Meanwhile, at the emotional level, there comes to our consciousness the first awareness of the principles of ying and yang, positive and negative, assertive and passive, that stays with us throughout our life dictating how we live in our world. There is, simultaneously, the first physical manifestation of the “snakelike” movement or spiral of the kundalini energy that rises throughout our bodies copying itself countless times in the structures of our DNA. The 4-petaled muladhara chakra is associated with the color red. the element is earth. In the Edgar Cayce readings, he associated this chakra with the white horse and the church of Ephesus in the Book of the Revelation. From here on there are many different interpretations of the energy of the 1st chakra.

The creative principle of the universe on the physical level is associated with this chakra. The first chakra emulates that of the 7th chakra bringing Brahmanlike states of bliss. In this chakra we find our physical roots in the earth. This chakra is our source of grounding as well as being our survival center and source of vitality. We must always be on guard to remember the 1st chakra is lord of the lower spiritual centers. When in balance this chakra not only is our seat of procreation but also leads us to find other spiritually creative venues in life. Art, music, drama, poetry, writing, architecture, gardening, building are just a few of life’s possibilities that we can do to awaken the kundalini in this chakra. People who have a creative expression in their lives tend to be happier and healthier. When I am counseling a client during an astrological reading, I always ask them to find a creative passion to put their energies into. In doing this, it helps open up this chakra while pulling energy up to the next chakra with a more intense and pure fire. This fiery energy purifies as it ascends to the higher chakras. Hence, the biblical mandate, “by fire, you must be cleansed.”

In the Edgar Cayce material on the Book of Revelation, the readings relate to us that at this chakra we still have the original “wound” and guilt over “leaving our first love.” This may explain some of our fearful reactions in regards to intimate relationships and the compulsive behaviors that we maintain to avert any more emotional pain. The emotions generated out of this center are extremely dynamic and creative. As we investigate further the chakra system, we must keep in mind that we cannot have any physical dysfunction that does not first happen on the mental and/or emotional level. Physically, the root chakra influences the rectum, kidneys, bones, skin, flesh, nerves, hair, and genitals. Physical disorders of any of the above body parts are the manifestations of mental and emotional disturbances in the root chakra that must be corrected to enable healing to manifest throughout the human body. Since the root chakra holds the kundalini energy and, literally, controls the flow of spiritual consciousness throughout the remaining chakras, those who have 1st chakra blocks will generally be dealing with power and control obstacles in their life. Vitality is low. Life appears dreadful due to repressed feelings. Jealously springs up easily and other behaviors may include resentfulness and the need for revenge. People who feel out of control my attempt to manipulate persons and/or situations with emotional guilt or dramas to get the desired action or what they think they want. This may lead to sexual dysfunctions that are due to feelings of powerlessness or of being out of control. In fact, the dysfunction may manifest itself by a loss of control in the genital area. In the act of sex, to re-establish control, control must be turned over to spirit, constantly offering up the lower energy to gain a higher awareness. this must be an extremely conscious, patient, and willful effort requiring much self-control. As the energy is raised, the person must hand over control to spirit again and again to gain control. As this happens the energy is dissipated more evenly healing the lower centers of the body as it rises and rebuilds once more. Again, we can choose to be patient as the energy builds toward orgasm or once again allow the building of energy to dissipate throughout the body transmuting the energy to a higher level and charging the cells with consciousness. In some religious circles, celibacy is considered a form of devout spiritual worship. However, this is extremely dangerous if the emotional and mental natures are repressed without a clear understanding of how to transform or change this energy of God. In our Western world, most lay people are unaware of the constructive and destructive nature of the 1st chakra energy while in the East holy men and women are taught, firsthand, about the repercussions of this dynamic energy and how to transmute it. Consequently, many sexual perversions, addictions, compulsive disorders, and emotional tirades may result without this ability to transform or move the energy to the next level. In the last few years, several evangelists and priests have come under much publicized criticism for some of their sexual abuse toward younger members of their congregations. This is something that has probably been a problem throughout history and is now only coming to the surface.

When the root chakra is to far open and not channeling energy upward behaviors may become compulsive, addictive, or perverse. Behaviors are sexually obsessive and dangerous. An over abundant attention to pornography, window peaking, and sex acts without incorporating the heart become harmful and detrimental to the soul.

Root Chakra Meditation

Sit comfortably in a chair with the spine as straight as possible. Visual and surround your body with a white light to protect any harmful forces that might be around you at this time. Begin breathing deeply, feeling the lower part of your lungs first, then the middle, then the upper part until you feel a slight pressure on the throat, then exhale emptying out the lungs.

By John Boeson, The Handwriting Guy A wise philosopher once said the only people who desire change have wet diapers, need to use a vending machine or are in a relationship with someone who isn’t doing things “just right”. Read that, “The way I want things done.” An yet the one constant in our lives is that everything changes, right down to the cells in our bodies. We all prefer this inevitable change to occur on our timetable and under conditions over which we have some control or decision-making authority. In reality, how often does it happen that way? Be honest! Look at the workplace. Companies fail, and overnight, people are displaced from their jobs. Mergers and buyouts are followed by reorganizations to improve efficiency and profitability. Translate that as layoffs. Competition requires a creative response to maintain a steady flow of products and services. A stagnant company is soon a closed company. Look at the household. Each person has a unique set of duties, responsibilities and activities. Fix what’s broken. Replace what’s missing. Store, sell, give away or throw away unneeded things. Use and enjoy the rest. Motion and change are constant. Nature abhors a vacuum. Actually so do most kids when it comes time for their turn to clean the carpet. Look at relationships. “Just don’t look at mine”, you say. “I can’t get him/her to do what I want. I wish he/she would change”. Or how about, “I don’t know who you are anymore. You aren’t the same person I once knew. You’ve changed”. And then the children complain, “i’m bored, there’s nothing to do around here”. Well you could [and then read off a list of various activities]”. “No I don’t want to do that. That’s no fun. That’s work, I don’t want to do that”, etc. Then we have the items at the top of the list of major stresses: death, divorce, disease, earthquake, fire , tornado, crime, hurricane, accident and the list goes on. People need help. Ask anyone. With some people you tend to avoid asking “how are you today” because you’ll get a litany of all their problems. Who do you know that does things that produce negative results and fails to do things that would produce positive results? Every person on that list is begging someone to help them sort out their feelings, mental processes, imagination and behaviors. They also need direction in resolving their fears so they can proceed to live mature, happy, prosperous and successful lives. Now there’s a way to zero in on the traits found in a personality by analyzing a handwriting sample. Graphoanalysis, or scientific handwriting analysis, is objective, precise, practical, and it works. Its principles are time tested and proven. With my program people learn to do things for themselves rather than to themselves so they understand there is more to feeling good than just not feeling bad. They can stop wasting energy on fear, anxiety, and insecurity. Find what is most important in your life, establish a personal plan as a blueprint for the life you’ve always wanted to live, and then take charge over your thoughts, feelings, speech and actions. Learn to make right decisions.

This is a reminder that we have all 14,000 + documented Edgar Cayce readings on CD-ROM. Included with these readings are any letters or other notes that pertain to a specific topic. Recently, one of my yoga students asked for any information that Edgar Cayce gave pertaining to a “ringing in the ears” problem she was having. On researching the files, I was able to pull up 32 documents on my computer with information relating to the above problem and the medical cures that were given. If you have any subject that you would like to have researched from the Edgar Cayce source, give us a call. All we ask us a couple of days and a love offering for our paper and computer time.

Only after the last tree has been cut down, Only after the last river has been poisoned, Only after the last fish has been caught, Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.

Come take my hand You should know me, I’ve always been in your mind. You know I will be kind. I will be guiding you to live your dreams It has to start now; there’s no other road to take You won’t make a mistake, I will be guiding you.

You have to believe we are magic, Nothing can stand in our way. You have to believe we are magic, Don’t let your head ever stray. And if by hope you should survive, Destiny will arrive Bring all your dreams alive For you, Bring all your dreams alive For you.

From where I stand, You are home free. Planets aligned so rare. There’s promise in the air. And I’ll be guiding you through every turn. I’m always near you, come any time you call, And I’ll catch you when you fall. I will be guiding you.

lyrics from a 1980’s song by Olivia Newton John

In New York you can be fined $25 for flirting. Maybe that’s why nobody looks at you in the Big Apple.

Legally, Kentuckians are required to take a bath once a year. Maybe that’s why they have so many horse stables - to improve air quality.

Thank God for the wisdom of the Alabama legislators. They passed a law to make it illegal to drive blindfolded.

In the “show me” state of Missouri, the state legislature passed a 1,012 page bill to reduce paperwork.

Police in Los Angeles asked each man in a lineup to repeat the words, “Give me all your money or I’ll shoot!’ One man complained, “That’s not what I said!”

Police in Oakland, California, spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing tear gas canisters, officers realized that the man was standing beside them, shouting pleas to come out and give himself up.

Not to be outdone by the other states, a fellow Kansan walked inside a convenience store and demanded all the money in the drawer. Disappointed with the small take, he tied up the clerk and worked the counter for three hours, until police showed up.

A Virginia bank robber stuffed his loot down the front of his pants as he was running out the door. Following instructions, the teller had dropped into the money bag an ink canister designed to explode as it passed the front door. It did.

The ancient art of Middle Eastern dance made it’s debut in America in 1893 at the World Colombian Exposition at Chicago’s World Fair. It was there that the term “belly dancing” was coined. Today it is seen primarily as a form of entertainment and exercise. However, its origins predate recorded history and is thought to be a descendant of Sacred Temple Dancing. In this class we will learn the basic movements and techniques of “belly dancing” , a once sacred temple dance. We will construct a basic dance routine “ritual”. We will learn how the movements of the dance correspond to different chakra centers in the body and how to use them for healing and integration of body, mind, and spirit! This class meets on Wednesday evenings at White Dove starting May 9th and running through June 27th. The cost of the class is $40 for eight weeks with advanced registration required. Class time is 7:30 PM thru 8:30 PM. Additional classes will be meeting in the future. Call Dona Baba at (316)264-8406 for further information or White Dove at (316)262-3683.

Dona Baba has spent the last 20 years studying and performing Middle Eastern dance. Her journey took her to New York City where she lived for six and one-half years. She earned her living as a professional dancer during her stay while studying with many famous dancers of our modern era. In 1993 as she began dancing with the candelabra, many ancient mysteries about the dance were revealed, and she began practicing sacred temple danding.

Well over 50 years ago, the American seer Edgar Cayce predicted that there would be a chamber found behind the right front paw of the Sphinx. Inside this chamber would be found historical records of man’s early lifetime on earth, including the mythical continents of Atlantis and Lemuria. Up to this time the Egyptian Department of Antiquity smugly affirmed that none existed and that Cayce was out of his league when it came to archaeology.

However, just within this last year the National Geographic Society, with the help of highly sophisticated sound equipment has located a chamber thirty feet below the Sphinx. This room has a thirty foot high ceiling and a width of 26 feet. I do not recall the length of the room..For verification of their findings, National Geographic requested an additional test by performed by NASA from outer space, using the same technology that they are using to locate cracks in the salt mines at Hutchinson that led to the gas explosions there. NASA verified the validity of their date. So, indeed there is a chamber or chambers located under the sphinx as predicted by Cayce.

Probably the next step is to drill through the bedrock to the subterranean chamber using a vacuum drill. Once the drill has reached the chamber, a camera will be mounted to the end of the bit and a “look see” will take place. I would be very surprised if nothing were found since Cayce has been correct in som many of his prophecies. Then again, we will have to leave it up to the archaeologists to be honest about their findings. This may take years. Be wary of any quick announcements that nothing has been found. We’ll be the last to know and this may take years.

Meanwhile, work on the above project will not start none too soon. The priority now seems to be that authorities have found another “room” just off the Queen’s Chamber inside the Great Pyramid. We’ll keep you posted on any news from either of these events.

I learn the lesson of life from a little kitten of mine, one of two. The old cat comes in and says, very cross, “I didn’t ask you in here, I like to have the Missus to myself!” And he runs at them. The bigger and handsomer kitten runs away, but the little one stands her ground, and when the old enemy comes near enough kisses his nose, and makes the peace. That is the lesson of life, to kiss one’s enemy’s nose, always standing one’s ground.

-Florence Nightengale

How can you who are so holy suffer? All your past except its beauty is gone, and nothing is left but a blessing. I have saved all your kindnesses and every loving thought you ever had. I have purified them of the errors that hid their light, and kept them for you in their own perfect radiance. They are beyond destruction and beyond guilt. They came from the Holy Spirit within you, and we know what God creates is eternal. You can indeed depart in peace because I have loved you as I loved myself. You go with my blessing and for my blessing. Hold it and share it, that it may be ours. I place the peace of God in your heart and in your hands, to hold and share. The heart is pure to hold it, and the hands are strong to give it. We cannot lose. My judgment is as strong as the wisdom of God, in Whose Heart and Hands we have our being. His quiet children are His blessed Sons. The Thoughts of God are with you.

The great sandstone amphitheater grew silent from a whispering of a hundred voices as everyone’s attention was drawn to the stage. Large stone slabs, smoothen only on the seating surface, precisely arched to allow the audience a center of attention to the stage below them. A white haired elder in flowing robes, his face red with emotion and concern, walked to the podium. A small group of twelve elder supporters watched from behind him as he addressed the group. “You all have your instruction, you children of the Law of One. We must rebuild for the future generations, for our future incarnations, lest we forget totally and begin where we were eons ago. Your migration must be done quietly, not to alarm others. Those in power have been warned. Now we must go about our business. Our seers and prophets foresee the next spiritual awakening some 12,000 years in the future. We will meet again, then, when our leaders call us forth for a day of global prayers and meditations for peace. That will be your sign to awaken again, to begin anew our work for a global people free from war, where every man, woman, and child is equal again, where there is no poverty or hunger. Until then, go in peace.”

Ukiah finished his notes as he sat in the large sandstone auditorium along with the rest of his nervous colleagues. Seated along with him were medical doctors, astronomers, engineers, physicists, environmentalists, chemists, and the top minds pertaining to the use of the gravitational energies and laws of the earth. This highly secretive synod was composed of some of the most well-known citizens and experts in their respective fields and held an entirely different perspective than their Atlantean government when it came to the disturbances that were taking place in the earth. This group held that the earthquakes which were becoming more frequent and severe in the last few months were an indication of a misuse of science and power and an alternative plan had to be implemented for the generations that followed. One such plan was to “hide” knowledge and history in various monuments yet to be built on safe areas throughout the earth. Some of his colleagues were to go to the newly forming continent west of Atlantis and some still farther down into the fragment islands that were once the continent of Lemuria.

Ukiah walked out of the auditorium making his way through a series of hallways that led to the outside. It was late in the afternoon. The sun pierced through a fine layer of clouds making the day seem surreal. The heavens captured the violets and blues along with reds and oranges that painted themselves into the cloud sheet. The air was warm giving off the scent of tropical flowers and scents. What would make most people awed by the beauty did nothing more than to deepen Ukiah’s broken heart.

Nearby, the ocean waves breathed upon the shore creating a peaceful rhythm that conforted Ukiah, momentarily helping him forget the problems of the world. He liked to walk and sit along the beach listening to the friendly cries of the gulls while feeling the wind flow through his shoulder-length thick black hair. The sun warmed his lean brown-skinned frame disciplined over the years with a strict diet and physical exercise. His features were typical of the Atlantean race but now their technology had made many of the inhabitants lazy and obese. What was once a beautiful race had become cold, crass, and uncaring not only of themselves but of others. Laws were being passed that aided only those in financial power without regard to society at large. Wars and skirmishes were breaking out amongst small nations and even within the land. Powerful weapons were being used that, according to scientists, were creating great disturbances within the earth. What was once a great civilization now was on the verge of breaking up. In fact, many of the people were seeing visions or having dreams of the inevitable destruction of the continent. Too much of the astrological information pertaining to the future was ominously forecasting a time of peril as were some of the sages living in the land.

Ukiah stopped to sit along a large boulder near the ocean. Looking out into the mesmerizing sea, he pondered his assignment given to him by the elders. Many new nations were breaking off from the governing Atlanteans adopting new principles that lived using the laws of the earth for good while reestablishing their connection with the spirit. Some of these probably would not last, some hopefully would. Tomorrow he would leave for one of the many hopeful nations, a land just due east of Atlantis. A new civilization was just waking up to their spiritual potential, a nation called Egypt. Great stone monuments, much like the amphitheater but much larger, were in the planning stages. Stone was chosen because of its resiliency to the elements and was not easily destroyed by invading armies. These
